Hi,

There seem to be a few ways of creating SSS in lightwave now (Kappa, Kappa2, Omega, SSS, SSS2, Skin, Fast Skin, Sigma, Sigma2, Simple Skin).

I'm after an SSS system that offers generalized flexibility (deep waxy effects to more subtle stuff) that works in animation (I remember from my LW9.6 days that there were some serious gotchas on the animation front when it comes to SSS). It doesn't have to be uber realistic, just flexible so you can create different looks/effects.

Can anyone recommend one of the above systems ? Testing each of them, with their associated render times, seems like a long task if someone has already figured it out.

Well forget the SSS stuff under legacy... its redundant. Basically for animation, u got 2 choices... skin, or simple skin.
