View Full Version : saving settings entered into lscript fields

LScript newbie question:

I have an LScript which retrieves user input values and assigns them to a number of control-null's transform values...

Question: How can I provide functionality so that the entered values can be saved to disk and manually reloaded from the Lscript - so that when applying the same LScript to additional nulls - the values do not need to be retyped?

First thought is you could write the values to an external file, like a text file. Then you could read and parse the file each time the lscript is run. However I'm sure there's a more elegant solution that a seasoned lscripter knows of.

I am not quite sure what you are asking, but if you just wanted to save the information you entered into fields for the next time you run the script look at store and recall: http://www.mikegreen.name/Lscript/Lscript%20Index.html Otherwise if you want to save lots of settings I would recommend nickdigital's solution.

Here is a really rough example:

savepath = recall("savepath","c:\\");
c1 = ctlfoldername("Save Folder",savepath);
savepath = getvalue(c1);
store("savepath",savepath );
