The string "commander" is not found thru PDF Search in my versions of either the "LScript User Guide" nor the "LScript Reference" documents

That's "commander" as in "LScript Commander".

Because it's no part of lscript. The name is also a bit of a misnomer. It doesn't catch lscript, it catches CommandSequence (CS) commands (Layouts proprietary command language/instruction set). It does have the ability to concert CS to Lscript, but it's part of the feature set not the main feature. So, if one aims to avoid overlap, it rightly should be documented in LWs main manuals not the Lscript manuals. A mention might not have hurt, but that should have been all. Imho.

@^@. I think that's ridiculously pedantic: it's a huge window into what LScript lines would work in Layout. The manuals are supposed to be educational resources, some 'overlap' and redundancy in presentation would be very welcome.

It's not about being pedantic. It's about being consistent and allowing maintainability of the manuals. You can't cover something in every place were it can be related. The manuals, especially in printed form, cannot cover every little detail or every way the bits of the puzzle can fit.

Again. The LScript Managers language is not lscript, it's CS! When converting from CS to lscript it sometimes gets it wrong. You can't even execute lscripts in Lscript Commander. It doesn't understand it. It understands CS! If you want to advocate anything, advocate a name change (good luck with that!).

Until we get a wiki-based (or somesuch) manual...
