View Full Version : 'Ground Those Objects' rewritten in python

Ground Those Objects is a 'c' plugin I wrote in 2000 and updated in 2007. I have re-written it in python primarily so I could use it with 64 bit LightWave, but I also wanted to open the source code so others could use it to learn from and maybe improve it also.

It is avaliable on my website plugin page (http://www.pepperchrome.com/Tools.html) along with a description of it's use. The older 32 bit 'c' compiled plugin is also available. It is interesting to note that the python version is slower as you would expect but not much slower. One test grounding 204 objects onto a 248,102 triangle mesh for 6 frames took 0:45 in c and 1:15 in python.
