View Full Version : Instancing: mystery behaviour / instance movement without keyframes

LWS package attached

For some reason, the instances in this scene are rotating, most noticeably after f265.

TMK there's no keyframing or texture animating these Instances, so why are they rotating? Obviously I'm missing something. The only arcane stuff is:

used a w.map for distribution
animated the rotor using a bone

Thanks.

(see noobs, that's how you ask a question around here: with a pertinent subject line, a clear question, and example files. )

Interesting. I haven't rendered it yet, but it doesn't show up in a preview on my OSX system.

Please report it. Use DPInstancer instead and set Instancer Mode to Transformed & Displaced and the problem is gone.

Did you see it also with the example LWS?

Did you see it also with the example LWS?

Yes, turning on smoothing for the sphere makes it behave even worse.

Interesting!

I'll squirt it over to FogBugz. And, as usual, I encourage EVERYBODY to submit solid repeatable bugs to FogBugz so the devs can see what we're dealing with out in the Real World.
