I'm modeling what will be a space craft.

I want the cockpit to have sharp corners, but everthing else I like smooth and curved. I've tried creating extra edges to keep the cockpit from turning to Oval shapped. Any suggestions. Here are samples of my problem

I want the cockpit to stay like this.
107752

But it turns oval when applying sub-divide

Any suggestions?

Try edge weights.

You need more edges at the corners of the cockpit. The closer the edges are to each other, the less the smoothing will affect.

Ps. Next time attach smaller pictures and as jpg:s.

You need to get to grips with sub-D modeling. Have a look at these free videos.

Thanks for the tip... How do you weld the edges or points?

Check out mine SwiftEdgeLoop video tutorial

It's exactly about how to make hard edges where you want them.
Unlike other sub-dividing tools like BandSawPro, SwiftEdgeLoop can obey user selection.
