Hey guys...

I'm Directing a scifi action film called THE WARNING.

We are going into pre-pre production... attaching talent, sales companies etc right now.

I want to do a few more test vfx shots to help with all of this... What I need is a highly detailed space ship that could be composited on a red EPIC plate which we would shoot from our octocopter. ( https://vimeo.com/46561255 )

I've already done some VFX tests myself:

Wall of fire:
https://vimeo.com/48899732

Vaporizer:
https://vimeo.com/48896318

Car crash:
https://vimeo.com/42642782

And here is some stuff I've directed before:
Music video with all Lightwave visual effects:
https://vimeo.com/34722864

So again, DO YOU HAVE or DO YOU KNOW someone who would not mind lending a really cool space ship for this test shot? MUST BE LIGHTWAVE READY.

Let me know!!! Thanks!

After looking through the Forgery collection I'm sure this will be a good looking movie.

Yeah... we want to make a really cool, high quality scifi film even though it's low budget... Still looking for that model!!

This is the type of thing I envision:

But can't afford $600 for a test shot!!

Anyone know who I can burrow something like that from??

Once we get the budget and the project is off the ground would be happy to pay for it and use it in the film...

That was one cool looking ship on turbosquid.

Yeah... love that one because it has a somewhat "realistic" feel to it, yet is still scifi.

These images belongs to my Friend Jorge Deichmann
He does a lot of cool SCI FI models and concepts. He also wrote a SCI FI book and I'm sure he will love to colaborate

Hello,
I read your post yesterday and looked at the ship you posted as an example. The first thing I thought was that it was a little unrealistic having the landing strip take off right into the main engine and the vertical tail. :-) I spent a few hours making this so far. I read through your one sheet synopsis and pulled a few ideas from that not knowing anything else about the ship. Like, is the ship really old and beat to crap, or is it the reason why they are returning? Is their current technology all shiny and new? Keep in mind this is only a few hours of 3D doodling.

I also pm'ed you with more info.

About the ship!

Ship Size:
The scale is roughly 1000' wide 275' tall and 1200' long. This was based on the example ship size. I was thinking, depending on the script, that scaling it up to 5,200'+(Roughly 1mi.) length would give more of a massive feel if this is only a single ship returning, or is it part of a fleet.

Initial Design:
The light green areas are just temporary blocking in of shapes and the blue boxes are a stand-in for human size. They are 6' tall with a spacing of 12' for deck height.

Hydroponics: Circular section behind front section, being a space going civilization hypothetically supplies would need to be maintained. Upper section for plant growing and lower section for environmental controls. I will be adding an upper cap supporting a shielding system with retractable sections and an adjustable airlock opening allowing for atmospheric swapping of oxygen etc... when the ship is in a compatible atmosphere.

Landing Area: The center part of the main deck will be the landing area with bays to the left and right below the upper curved support structures for the landing control bay. I was also contemplating extending out the front section and adding a bay behind the hydroponics section.

I'm also envisioning life pods attached right below the surface of the outer hull, visual detail.

To Be Added:
1. Landing struts, depending on if this needs to land.
2. External Weapons. Gun turrets etc.
3. Surface detail, panels, control points, airlocks
4. Windows
5. Hull lighting
6. Cool Stuff :-)
