Is there a way to control the custom paths in the Layout "Content Directory " tab?

the only way i would think you could do it is thru the LW11-64.cfg:

DirectoryType Scenes Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Scenes
DirectoryType SceneFile Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Scenes\WT-003B\
DirectoryType Objects Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Objects
DirectoryType Surfaces Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Surfaces
DirectoryType Images Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Images
DirectoryType Previews Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Previews
DirectoryType Motions Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Motions
DirectoryType Envelopes Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Envelopes
DirectoryType Animations Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Animations
DirectoryType Nodes Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Nodes
DirectoryType Sounds Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Sounds
DirectoryType Dynamics Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Dynamics
DirectoryType Rigs Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Rigs
DirectoryType Lights Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Lights
DirectoryType Radiosity Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Radiosity
DirectoryType ColorTables Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\ColorTables
DirectoryType ImageCache Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\ImageCache
DirectoryType VertCache Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\VertCache
DirectoryType Backup Z:\Content\Project\LightWave\Backup

so it would probably require a full lw restart to work. as far as retrieving folders, you can use getdir(OBJECTSDIR) or something although I dont think thats what you are looking for.

Not quite but thx. NewTek, lscript needs some love. Or I just need to learn python (assuming python is filling in on the holes that lscript has).

I am slowly trying to move over to python for scripts, however since there is nothing like Mike Green's lscript docs for it I spend a lot of time hunting through the example scripts. Really wish NT would jump on getting some python docs out :( Anyways, I constantly jump back to Lscripting because it is so much faster to script anything (at least for me).
