Hi All,

I just wondered if anyone knows of a shader which creates the impression of cracks in the texture?

Either that or is there a way to do it using nodes?

Thanks,

Simon

Try FBM, click the "Invert Layer" box, set the texture value to -100 (or more/less depending on needs, as long as it's negative), and the contrast almost all the way up in the 98-100% range. Frequencies and small power can be adjusted to fit your needs.

i'd usually use a texture, or paint a texture, you can use free Sculptris.

We donīt serve any cracks here on the forums:D

What kind of cracks? ground dry cracks? scratches on surfaces etc?

Dponts Free Rman collection has a node called shape bomber with some crack like procedural or scratches, filaments etc with different controls on how much, randomize with etc.

main rman collection...download to the left upper corner.

Texture + normal Mapping.
You can use crazy bump or even Quixel which is awesome.
You might want to look over there:

Now that...rocks!

but I donīt get it quite, I have an older free version of ndo for photoshop, and this is ndo2, not free as I suspect, and quixel? wich one carries all the material presets with cracks and such?
