View Full Version : I need a quick hint with exporting transparent glass with reflections

A client needs me to hand him a transparent glass image, to compose with a different background. Is there a proper way to make this transparency without losing the reflections and specularities?
I'm sure there is a way but i'm very short on time right now.

Not sure what you mean, but is not enough to export just that image as a tiff and tga 32 (alpha channel)? Keep your background empty or make it unseen by camera or constant black in its render properties

No. Alpha is exported as a flat value, so reflective parts of a transparent object which due to reflectivity look as opaque, use the same exact alpha value as the more transparent parts. I guess I could try using the color channel over black as alpha, but that would be a work around.

Hmmm, psd export and work with layers, then... if possible. Good luck
