Went to Comic-Con for the first time ever. Having grown up reading comics, I felt like a little kid (and with all the hot chicks in costumes running around I felt like a big kid!).

The stand out exhibits for me were: Weta's booth had these huge trolls(? maybe giants I haven't read The Hobit in ages), the Iron Man suits promoting Iron Man 3 at Marvel, and a lot of the TV/Movie houses had great displays (including Walking Dead). NBC took over the restaurant across the SDCC and set up a Grimm garden. The Elysium ship in front of the Hard Rock Hotel was also pretty cool.

Unfortunately, almost all the panels were booked (people slept over night for most of them). So I didn't get a chance to see any of that (I was hoping to see the Fringe cast). Also, I only had Sunday tix so most of the good stuff already happened.

But cool overall.

I wish I could go to comic-con someday. I still have about 1,000 comics (mostly Marvel) that I bought in the late 70's/early 80's. I haven't checked to see how much they're worth, but I would imagine some of them have value. They are all in excellent condition.

safetyman: You could always go to the Baltimore Comic Con (http://baltimorecomiccon.com/).

I've been going to the New York ComicCon/Animefest for the past couple of years and it is always a blast.

That's a thought, but the other problem is convincing my wife that I'm not a kid anymore. Made some progress the last couple of years, but I wouldn't want to have a setback. :)

You make it sound like being a kid is grounds for divorce.

The first year I went, I justified the time and expense as a business trip. My wife was mad at me but only because I didn't take her with me. Last year, we had a very romantic weekend at the NYCC and the wife had just as much fun as I did.
