Can anyone advise on how to remove the flicker from the car paint material?

(Receive Radiosity and caustics are already turned off).

Thanks!

Sorry no expert here. Have you consider to up the AA? Though this increase the rendering time.

I would say the problem is inherent in car paint because of its shimmering, no? You could remove the flakes but then you'll also remove a lot of what makes it look like carpaint?

From personal experience the reason materials flicker is because of too low GI settings, you either need to use Brute Force rendering, however with the car paint node that is not recommended becuase of high render times.

You could try to up your settings a bit, and bake down the light using caching.

If you are willing to go the extra mile you should have a look at Kray, that is way faster than native LW when it comes to getting out a good quality render without flickering.

Or up the scale of the flakes. And I think your AA level is to low. Set AS to 0.001 to be sure.

Hey

Sorry to be a bit ignorant…

What do you mean by 'up the scale of the flakes'?
(Which parameter controls that?)

On the bottom there's a scale tab. Also position rotation and fall off.
Make them a lot bigger to check how big they really are.
