Just wondering if this looks bad to anyone else...

On the very first page of the forums here, the viewer is greeted by these defunct forums:

LightWave v9.6 Discussions...Forum is closed.
Lightwave Contest - WIP...Forum is closed.

I know there's good information in these forums, but is there a better way to present the information in them that doesn't make the first page of the community look dated and obsolete?

For instance, maybe they could be consolidated into a single forum called "Legacy Threads."

Maybe it's just me, but if you're trying to market LightWave as the latest, hottest 3D software out there and then visitors here are greeted by "LightWave v9.6 Discussions...Forum is closed", it just looks bad.

Anyway, obviously this is not the most earth-shaking issue out there but bothers me nevertheless.

I know I have said this quite a few times, and have written mails to at least 2 people at Newtek about it. Think it looks pretty bad and not so professional when someone stumbles onto the Newtek Site.

Have a new forum subsection called Archives & throw those in there.

Now just add TOP row/bar with selected topics/renders/wips... and it's gonna be even better ;).

Chuck, how about re-adding list of all 3rd party authorized LightWave developers on the main LightWave product page, like it used to be in old website design.. ?

That's SEO optimization also for us.

Done.

::hifive:: :thumbsup:

+: what Sensei said. Nurture those 3rd party devs!

No thanks to me - I hadn't even gotten around to chatting about the notion with Chuck yet. :thumbsup:
