I don't mean digital effects. I want to learn about filming basic elements, filming tricks(forced perspective), and pyrotechnics( basics like what burns red and what burns blue) Among other things, I feel it is something I should have a basic understanding of as well as having a desire to broaden my horizons.

Wow... We have a comedian. You really think google wasn't my first stop?

Despite the infinite knowledge of google, it cannot say which forum has the most helpful community most active moderators or bestcollection of experts. So thanks for being so very UNHELPFUL

I am sure Mr. Rid has some tips here, he is an old master with digital and analogue effects ...

Dude, both those links he pointed you to were more than helpful. The guy takes time out of his day to do a google search and then gets roasted for it, that's just bad manners, unless you were making a joke but it didn't come across that way.

I won't apologize. I try to only post when I absolutely need specific information. He gave me the first two links of a google search. Why unhelpful? I already had them! I come to the newtek fprums for informed insight because I've come to trust the experience of the user. I need informed insight not search results with absolutely no further explanation. His post is what a 'troll' would post with a LMGTFY.

Well, YOU might have said why the forums found were unacceptable.

OR, you coulda just said nothing.

Well... his his/their defense, YOU did not state what exactly you were looing for - other than a practical FX forum. You did NOT initially ask "which forum has the most helpful community most active moderators or best collection of experts" and he only posted what he found. Jumping down domoens throat who is trying to help is NOT conducive to getting MORE help in the future.

Just sayin.... :beerchug:
