View Full Version : Weight Map: mathematically inverting values?

See attached JPEG:

If I wanted to mathematically invert the values on the pictured weight map, how would I go about doing it?

That is, I'm reasonably sure there's a tool to apply a formula or function to change all the weight map values, but in this case I want:

100 to become zero
zero to become 100
and 50 to stay at 50

Thanks for any help. :)

Multiply by -1

:D

?? BTW, I'm talking about in Modeler: In a WM with values ranging from 100 to zero, wouldn't this just result in a range from 1 to -99?

Erm..... 1 is 100% in LW.

Use this :- http://www.lwplugindb.com/Plugin.aspx?id=12c657c9

Hey guys.

How about Mike Green's Invert Weight Map.

That looks like the ticket. Thanks Joe.

Using VMapProcessor from TrueArt's Modeling Pack you should be able to generate any weight map you want using Node Editor..

Watch videos.

(w/o looking yet, but I will):
Sensei, sometimes I like to keep it simple, like my mind. So, rather than doing a dynamic thing with nodes, applying the w.map directly in Modeler suits my work processes.

No doubt node gurus can go to town with this.

Thanks!

Now you need to reverse 0 and 1, next time you will need reverse -1 and 1, etc. There is needed flexibility in tool, or there will be needed million tools for million cases..
