View Full Version : Overlapping Polys?

I have some polys which are welds on a giant cylinder. In the end we will be focusing on the welds, so they are modeled geometry and bulge out a little, like 5mm from the cylinder wall.

Up close everything renders fine, but if I pull the camera back often times the cylinder renders over the weld in a rather sporadic fashion. See the attached image.

I tried super high antialiasing and it makes no difference.

How do I get LW to render the thing how it is built?

Try increasing the geometry on the big tower thing. segments and slices, that way there is enough normals for lw to know what to render over what

What version of LW are you using? Which camera type? What are your antialias settings?

'Enhanced Antialiasing' seems to have done the trick. I hope.

Weird because Extreme Antialiasing still has the issue, even when I increased the pole geometry, but even Enhanced Low seems pretty good.
