Is there a script out there for renaming a large number of surfaces at once especially when a Prefix or Suffix needs to be changed?

In notepad? Surfaces are in binary LWO, not in LWS..

Anyway good idea for plug-in..

I can add a suffix. Adding a prefix doesn't work so well. This code might have problems too so use with caution.

I do notice that somtimes the new names in the Surface Editor don't always update properly. Closing and relaunching the window fixes that.

If Sensei can do this with a plugin then I bow to him. I've been wanting a tool like this for awhile. It would be nice to rename based on a selection of surfaces. I don't think you can get an array of selected surfaces via lscript.

You can't get it from C/C++ SDK too. It's internal variable of Surface Editor.

I often find myself needing to change the prefix on a long list of surfaces like shown here. Would be great if there was a plugin for this but for now I guess I will have do it manually.
