Many thanks DPont...

I have missed some updates on his page, would be nice if there was a main page news showcasing the updates and when they are done.

Updates on sunsky with new additions of distant light with soft shadows and angle control of that it seems.
Havent installed and tested it yet thou.
Different plugins now for 9.6 and 11.

It reminds me that I have to point out some artifacts on the flow noise texture in lw 11, some very sharp edges occours in the procedural, have to mail him about that.

This bug was only in the texture not the node,
I fixed it when you reported it, 2 weeks ago.

Awesome update! several useful new tools and lights there.
Great idea placing the skylight and sunlight parameters in actual lights - more flexible and intuitive (the sunsky shape helps a lot too). There's also a bunch of presets with new cities, and the volumetric new sunsky portal looks pretty useful.

Thank you very much, Denis!

Some of the very best Lightwave exterior renders i've seen use this plugin...  http://erikalstad.com/backup/misc.php_files/047.gif

:agree: Not only the results are excellent but also a lot more easy now with the new Sunsky Lscript. The setup is just a one button solution!

While we're on the subject of these updates, I've attached a simple object and surface which uses the latest version of 'weave'.

I created the surface on the object and then saved the surface off to use on other objects, it's nothing special, just the weave texture as a bump, using the UV's of the object.

After a while I started having problems with Lightwave crashing and found that it was any object using this surface that was causing it. I shared the object and surface with a group of people and they reported the same problem.

I can load scenes that use the object but I cannot load the object into modeler or layout without the application instantly crashing. The same happens if I try to apply the surface to an open object.

I'm not sure if it's any help at all but thought I'd share it while I remember.

The crash says the error comes from msvcrt.dll,
seems that there some other nodes in this setup,
but since the crash occurs in another module than RmanNodeCollect
(if you are using the Weave node) I can't debug it,
It is also odd if you can load a scene with this object,
but since you didn't post it, I don't know your setup,
I can just say that I can save and load a surface
with the Weave node without problem here.

Thanks Denis, perhaps it's an incompatibility with another node? I'll have another look at it when I get a moment
