View Full Version : Instancing help

I have a 1km x 1 km landscape object I'd like to instance in x and z to increase the illusion of scale.

Rectangular array seems the easiest option. Adding 3 instances in x and z and offsetting by 1 km works fine. However the y instance field refuses to accept 0 and resolutely stays at 1. With y offset at 0m it seems there is still an instance 'hiding', superimposed on the host object which reveals itself if the instances are rotated. How best to delete it?

Sorry if this seems blindingly simple or I've misunderstood something fundamental. I've rtfm but really can't seem to figure this out.

Finally, Is there a way to 'grab' instances manually and pull them about in the orthographic view for greater control? It would be a very nice feature :)

Y has to stay at 1 or you would have no instances.

The instance "hiding" under the host is normal, too. The proper method is to hide the host and only work with the instances.
