Ok, I was just lookin through some of the work-in-progress's.. ('s?)

Anyway.. this lonely thought came through my head.. the people who are real good at surfacing, what lighting setup do you use when you are surfacing your models?

Dunno about being good ;-) but i usually texture with the lighting that will be used in the final scene - texturing affects lighting, lighting affects texturing. To me, it's two way process and i tweak both interactively.

If i make something i need to use in a variety of scenes, i usually use a daylight scene when texturing, i.e. "Half Sunny" preset from my plugpak's "scenes", or something similar but a bit less blue.

I'll say it for him - Eki IS pretty good! A veritable lighting guru if I may say so!

I agree with Eki, your texturing should be done to work in the lighting environment you will be rendering in. The go so hand in hand you really have to think that way. And unless you need to render your final shots with radiosity its not such a bad way to work. ;)
