Greetings to all lightwavers!!

Check out my last rendering, it's a kind of ehmm...space armored wagon, tell me what you think...also check out my site, with older and new work...: http://www.netexpert.nl/sytho/index.html

well here is the picture....it's my first time to attach something....;-)

excellent! love all the detail, I would make the tyres a different colour though.

Good grief! Glorious detail, nicely grubby texture, looks very original to me!

One suggestion - the textures are all very similar - for example the tyres appear to be the same as the dirty metal. Maybe a little more variation in the surfaces?

Very beautyful lighting and textures. Can you tell me how did you created this textures i'm very interested about it.

well i have to admit...about the tires, they could have been more rubber like, the other textures are the same expept for some logo's etc...its a rust texture (image), for 40 procent i think, and the same image inverted for the bump map...the lightning is spinning spotlight with dithered motion blur for the fake radiosity effect...

PS thanks for the reaktions

Great work :)

Wow, that's really nice. I think the shiny disc in the middle of the wagon is the coolest part, I think it brings it all together.

Where does one sit?

Where does one sit?

I'd take a guess at the big shiney disc!!!

I think the image S*CKS!

Anyone who made this image should be ashamed of hisself, BAD taste and... and... ehhmmm... a worse design!

But it's a nice try :)

At the risk of sounding like everyone else..

for all people who liked my picture, here is the back of the ehmmm...spacy car thingy...

Maybe make the steering vanes black as well...

10-24-2003, 08:40 AM
It's delightful -- I wanna go for a ride:D

REALLY nice. All I can say negative is the tires look metalic instead of rubber and you should vary one of the rudders' texture, because they're both exactly the same. Otherwise, it's perfect.
You could composite it into a photo and probably fool many people into believeing it's something real.

Nice !! a bit of mad max into it :)

It's a fantastic model and render, but as a 'futuristic space wagon' I think it's a failure, solely because I don't see it as a space wagon at all!

All the same, brilliant.

the modeling and the detailing is great, but this vehicle looks completly impossible to steer. the wheels seem fixed and it will only be possible to change direction by "dragging" those wheels sideways on the ground, which will be pretty hard with those tiny rudders. also, that propeller seems too small.

great modeling, but the concept is not convincing.

I think it looks really cool. Great job.

I also don't see the wagon... or the armor :)

10-26-2003, 05:24 PM
Wow...I love it all!!

woohhhh .. nice rendering and texturing..
i am not a fan of the design.. but recognize the quality of this work..
bravo !!!

I know its made-up, I know it really doesn't matter, I know your model looks fantastic....but.....one thing really stands out to me thats just evaporates an otherwise credible model.....the fan....other than for drying the drivers hair that thing aint gonna move the buggy nowhere. Think of a swamp-boat and how big and powerful it needs to be to move across a low friction surface with little to no weight. I think you need this kind of 'believability' is sci-fi stuff for it to be accepted. Other than that, wow, a brilliant cool buggy, nicely modelled.

Well when i wanted to animate the car, i saw, it could just ride straight trough....the idea was that the car could, go up and down, so when ride trough a desert, it could peek over the hills, like a scout. but the steering was, a problem.

Maybe, when i made some kind of axe, under the drivers seat it could work.

I agree with the comment on the size of the propeller.
Also, if it is really a space exploration vehicle, the propeller would propel nothing if there is no atmosphere.
One should also be careful not to shoot its own front tyres with the submachine guns :D
Just my comments. All in all, this is a great pic, good model, texturing, lighting. I like it.

Who cares if it would work or not? It's a beautiful render and I'd hang it on my wall...

10-29-2003, 03:01 AM
Thumbs up here, superb modelling!

10-29-2003, 02:22 PM
Thumbs up here too! I also agree about maybe contrasting the wheels away from the chasis. Great work though.

Reminds me of Fallout, the post apocalyptic game. I think it could steer fine using a kind of leaning strategy.

That's Just Great!

only thing I see to crit is the fan which would strictly limit it to planets with an atmosphere. texturing looks pretty good, though I didn't look real close at it.
