Blender is free and Lightwave is a paid commercial application. LW's renderer is likely superior in most ways, since it is the heart and soul of Lightwave. There are other render engines that may be superior, but cost much, much more.

The lightwave renderer is very good and it is proabably the easiest to use.

Lightwave is easy, fast and a great renderer. More advanced and more professional than the Blender engine.

http://youtu.be/4jLTgwTMb5Q <- great Lightwave render sample here

There's some other renderers wich gets more accurate and fotorreal look, sometimes, but they cost a lot more and are really difficult to setup ( mental ray, V ray, Octane, Maxwell, Fryrender, Brazil, ... ). These renderers are for specific use and lightwave is for general use.

VPR ( viewport rendering ) http://youtu.be/BN3JfQ6Vi2c helps a lot for realtime visualization in Lightwave. Nothing compares in terms of velocity through CPU use.

And lightwave is probably the easiest renderer to learn.

You may also take a look at KRay ( www.kraytracing.com ) wich is a render plugin for lightwave for best fotorrealism in architectural renderings.

and another cool info is that a Lightwave licence allow you to render on an entire renderfarm. Other render programs are limited to 1, 4 or 6 Computers.

strange, that's what happens when the code auto-"corrects" i guess...

we try again...

When i click on the link - i got this:
"Sorry

The creator of this video has not given you permission to embed it on this domain. This is a Vimeo Plus feature."

How solve this?

you can just play it, not embed it.
clicking play should work.
