View Full Version : 3gp conversion, and free/shareware in general

This is one of those questions that garner far TOO many hits on google to be useful, including a boatload of spammy stuff, so I thought I'd ask the LW community:

I need to convert some 3gp video, quite a few clips, to something AE can use, and am looking for shareware recommendations.

Since I upgraded to W7, I no longer have the old tools installed I used to use to do various infrequent tasks. I used to use VirtualDub on my old machines, but a quick check just now implied that VDub doesn't handle 3gp files. And I used something else, can't remember the name, to view rendered image sequences, but it always bugged me that it didn't hold on the last frame, it just closed (irritating!).

So, what are preferred file converters and and image viewers? I'm tired of launching AE just to view a sequence.

Thanks for any recommendations!

For a good image sequence viewer: djv Imaging: http://djv.sourceforge.net/

I always forget the name. Great tool, though.

I found Super also very useful. Supports 3gp to any other format conversion. Problem is the website: a horrendous three-four page affair before you get to the download of the free converter. Keep scrolling down, and watch for 'commercial traps'. http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
