I couldn't find a better title for this thread, sorry.
I have an i7 920, not overclocked. Today I went into the "resource monitor" during a render, and this is what I see.

Why it doesn't go to 100%? Is this normal?
At work I have an i5, and when it's under load this value goes up to 104%!

If you run 2, 3 or 4 instances of LW you should get 100%, or at least very close to 100% with 2. (4 typically on a pair of W5580 CPUs) (if you have enough ram.)

A good situation is if you are rendering frames & only have 1 computer & have a week of rendering. Run 2 instances of LW, & do odd or even frames on each instance, or a 1 to 499 & 100 to 500 (-1).

You will save about 16 hours over a weeks render if your CPU is averaging 90%. If the render is only a few hours it's probably not worth the effort.

Thanks. I didn't think about it. It's just strange that the i5 goes to 100-104% and the i7 keeps on 86-88%, for the same scene! Kinda lame, I want my i7 to be always at full speed!
