View Full Version : Instancer time offset

Hi Guys,

I really hate resorting to posting for a solution but I've gone and stumped myself with the instancer in LW11.

Basically my scene is just a calendars pages pealing away.
I've animated a page with bones pealing back and I thought that instancer with the help of the time offset option would allow me to delay the animation on each successive instance.
I tried baking the animation thinking that the bones might be the issue but no luck.
Have I misunderstood this variable or is there a bug perhaps?

Much appreciated guys,

This is not implemented for the moment,
time offset works only to delay the transformations
of the object being instanced, not the displacements
of the geometry like for bones.
In this case add several reference object with
different deformation, may be not interesting in your case.

I suppose this is planned for the futures LW versions,
two possibles ways,
with a special backed animation cache like in 3rd party volumetric instancers,
or extending the mesh info in Layout to get the deformed object for
another time that the current frame, which could also
add some other possibilities in Lightwave..

Cheers dude. Thanks for the reply.

I was just trying to be lazy and use a new toy.

I love your plugins by the way.
