Wow amazing work. What renderer are you using for your exteriors/interiors?

Gorgeous style. I'd also like to know what renderer you're using, and vote for more little box guy images :)

Thanks all!
@vector - sure, no problem!
@Jure - hvala za lepe besede!
@kopperdrake & souzou - thanks! it's all pure LW, and of course post in PS.
@SaleVonGeist - thanks! seems like that little guy had a quite big success. It turned out to be a nice rigging exercise for me. I'll do some other images and another version of the same "character", you'll see, it'll be funny!

Very nice mate. I remember your grass and flowers image very well.

I also would like to see some more of the box guy, maybe even a little insight into the project?

Also, you site loads very quickly and the transitions seemed instant, very good.

very nice portfolio, one question, the stones here http://mitja.foliohd.com/view/Eij/Exteriors#2F7 , are those instances or displacement texture ?

thx

Mitja

It's all instances. Don't even try to use displacement for similar stuff, LW couldn't handle.
Here's anothe image of the little guy that didn't fit in the portfolio. More to come soom, I hope.

That is an awesome set of images Mitja. Great showcase for Lightwave's renderer.

The little cardboard dude in the rain is my favorite also. How is the rain done? Is there a WIP thread on here for any of these?

Great work Mitja ! The the little guy is lovely. Nice render and DOF!

Thanks for the comments.
That image is actually composited, so everything exept the guy is just an image front projected on a plate. Here's the naked render. Sorry...
Anyway, all effects are added in post.

I really enjoyed looking at your images - every one of them is great

I'd love to know what you use to create the grass. It's so realistic, both in shade and how in some images there is sparser coverage than others.

Simply stunning work! Not much to say other than that. I love your style and character, and the attention to detail is superb! I've seen a few of your renders on the forums of late, but together it really gives an impressive body of work!

Hey! Great Portfolio! The only thing I can really comment on is the order of your pictures. I think your best pictures are in the middle of each section, they should be first ;)

Also, perhaps cut out a few images. Folio is about showing your very best work, and some pieces you made on that site are way better than another (now personally I think each image is really well made dont get me wrong) "Less is more"

PS, I have some questions if you dont mind?

The bump on the white chair, is that a procedural you downloaded somewhere or a normal map?

Do you use the pavol techneque for grass?

Are the renders kray renders, or native LW?

Cheerio man really good folio!

Thank you all. It's very encouraging to see so many appreciations!
For grass I use point distribution, better placement control and number of instances optimisation. So where's a point, there's grass!
The bump is just a bump yes, simple leather texture and it's all lw.
As for the order, it was rather diffucult to choose, I decided to put one and one: one good followed by a worse render.

@tobian: it's good to know that someone rememers you even after a thread is dead! :D

So I assume you use geometry for the grass then? Do you use an Xfrog model, or Vue?

Mitja

Yep, geometry. It's hand made, single blades bended/deformed, rotated to get a small patch, then instanced all over the place. No need for fine details if you are rendering medium-distant grass field.

Ah cool, good idea! And so realistic as well.

I love the artwork.

I thought it was a big trouble some to click the thumbnails because they are moving around all the time when you are trying to browse through them, but then I found the arrows up top. :)

Your rendering and lighting skills are awesome. :D

Just one last question, becuase that white leather procedural is gold!

If its a built in lightwave preocural what is it called? because I cant find it.. im on lw 10.1

Thank you for the advice =)

As I said, it's a texture map. Almost everything you find on google is fine. Just google leather seamless, or something like that, and use that image.
Then you have do tweak reflections atc...

Thanks all for the comments, really encouraging!
And thanks geo_n, my goal is to make as realistic renders as possible, so it means I'm working in the right direction!
Here's the cardboard guy, to show you my incredible rigging skills! :D
I'm working on a different version of this character that should be quite funny, I've just to find some time!
