After around 10 days work total I finished my Spider-man character.
(my first ever fully UV mapped character)
I really like the result, but what do you guys think?

Looks good. Lighting is a bit dark. Your surfacing is nice.

The posing is pretty good. I feel it could be pushed to look more extreme and super hero'ish. Reference some of Todd McFarlane's drawings.

Stuff like this is very good for your portfolio. It clearly breaks down what you did.

really like that mate. What did you use to cut the UVs? PLG?

Or is there something else out there for free that's better?

I like the run-cycle - something about it feels a bit stiff but I still think it achieves that cartoonish feel you're going for.

Couple of things I would suggest:

The web texture on his suit is curved between the radial lines. Have a close look at the movie suit, the tranverse lines aren't circles, they're more scalloped.

Make his head bounce a bit when he's running, and make his toes bend a bit more to accentuate the motion. At the moment the movement is barely visible.

Other than that, looks good.

I definitely like the "Spec Map" Spiderman. lol The stylization of the characters body works well too. Kind of reminds me of a childrens cartoon. And it great that you got him animated.
