I don't think there are any tutorials on that specifically, but there are sample scenes included that show flocking. Instead of birds you get alien army, mecha fish and mecha wasp sample scenes.

I've attached a screenshot taken from frame 94 of the mecha wasp scene.

There is a thread with pretty detailed instructions on setting up your flock but I don't know if you'll have access to it:

Hope the info helps.

Not sure. But you can try the trial download here:

This is how you could do it in LW 11:

1. Create a null. In Object properties, under geometry tab, add flock generator.
2. In the flock generator properties, change range to 1m. Hit calculate.
3. Scrub the timeline. You should see your flock moving.
4. Load an object file to use as the flock. (Normally this would be an object with mdd file attached for motion).
5. Go back to the null with the flock attached, go to the object properties again, under the instancing tab, and add the instancer.
6. Set the type to particles, add your object to the object list in instancer and scrub the timeline.

That's it, you're done!

I've uploaded some screenshots to help you along.
