Is VPR influenced by the graphics card? and if so which is best?

I have a Radeon in my mac pro and have read I think that LW supports nVidia CUDA. does it make a difference?

Thanks

John

VPR doesn't use GPU at all, and Lightwave itself does not use CUDA. Lightwave's rendering performance depends on your CPU speed. That said, a faster graphics card with more memory will certainly speed up your display (i.e., openGL) performance.

Some third-party plug-ins, like Turbulence FD for example, have the option to use CUDA for faster calculations.

Hope this helps.

You never now when VPR suddenly goes gpu, if it does.
or when/if turbulenceFD goes gpu not only for the simulation but for render as well.

On my W5580 box VPR uses both CPUs & all cores very efficiently. So Buy the biggest fastest & pair of CPUs if you can!
