I have noticed opening up a model in modeler only one cpu does the work.
I have a dual g4 and am modeling a high poly building and would love when loading if both cpus were at work on it.
It seems to me dual can go much further and there is a huge need for it.

I guess you won't see much change in this behavior in the future. There are several reasons:

a) Limitations/ safety precautions in the underlying OS. In the case of reading/ writing files this largely depends on the file system

b) Most modeling operations are not that computationally intensive so even a single CPU is only used about 30% most of the time.

c) The ones that could gain speed from parallelizing them (for instance booleans) are difficult to handle. By their own nature they are quite linear and the communication overhead necessary for synchronizing 2 threads on different CPUs could consume a lot of the possible speed gain.

If you look around, you will see this with most 3D progs whilst modeling. Multi-CPU usage really only comes into play whith rendering.
