In your opinion and expertise, do you think Lightwave (dpont, python, etc) can dupicate the Ballman rig?

I know I couldn't duplicate it. :D Damn that's impressive.

I'd have to actually take a look at the schematic to really understand the tools he is using. I doubt this is done with much scripting but not sure.

I think ull find that no bones and no morfs means that ballman is done entirely using the stackable deformers... so its basically just a whole bunch of bend and flex and twist deforms all layered on top of one another in a careful arrangement to give the right operation order.

Which in LW terms means "No"... at least not the same way since LW lacks a real deform stack.

I think Maya still does better :) and smooth. Modo still need more.

Actually lightwave can't duplicate it so good as Modo because of the limited displacement order.

I betcha Messiah:Studio can fo it.
It has a slew of deformers including spline, curves, etc and its stack dependent as well.

Most likely. It has a deformer stack and lots of expressions you can use. I think I prefer using nodes for that however.

Lightwave also have a spline deformer but it is usefull for nothing.
Lightwave also have a lot of constrains that is usefull for nothing.

I really hate it!

a) Not more than one instance allowed per object
b) Not limited per weightmap the influence area.
