Hi,

I am very new to the area of 3D modelling and animation and would like some basic help please.

Are their any books that are required reading in terms of learning the principles behind 3D modelling? I have one of Dan Ablan's books but are their any must have books that i should have.

I am finding it hard to even model basic things so i guess im not grasping the principles of modelling.

Any tips in general would be greatly appreciated as i am eager to learn.

Many thanks

I find the Lightwave manual a great fun read and very educational... Its free so use it! (This is not a nasty comment, I really mean it! I really like reading the LW manual, and learnt a lot from it... my basic piece of reference material)

Re-difin 'simplest things' untill you can ! (model them)
Try a matchbox, something on the desk in front of you, work your way up to the computer monitor, & thence to the stars.
Dont expect to model a human hand during the first week unless you're God.
