Any ideas why this is happening?

I am baking from projection onto a UV Map no matter what camera size I use I still get the black lines :(

Assuming you're using the Surface Baking Camera, add a little value to the "UV Border" box.

The problem is that when you bake, by default it will create texture right up to the edge of the UV with no overlap, then as the image gets anti-aliased and smooths out it kinda pulls away from the border of the UV a little and lets some of the background colour show through.

Adding some UV Border will make it render a slight overlap and should fix the issue.
