Using UV, or front projection, is there a way to have the transparent areas of an imported image actually display as transparent in Lightwave? The effect would be similar to when a person is in front of a "green screen", which is later keyed out. In Lightwave, the alpha works fine as long as I UV or project it onto a rectangle; the problem is that the rectangle is opaque, so objects behind do not display. Masking or making a matte hasn't worked because I'm using a moving image sequence.

I realize this can be done in After Effects, but I'm wondering if there's a way to do it in LW. Thanks.

Use the alpha channel of your image and plug it into the Transparency Channel.
