Hi everyone,

Aircraft - Après Moi Le Déluge (After me, the flood)
Two Spitfire MkXIVe escort Lancaster B (QR-M), MkIII No. 61 Squadron PA474 "Mickey the Moocher" across foreign borders.

I've worked really hard on the colours and placement of the back plate and the planes, to convey the sense of darkness and doom they are all heading towards.

The WIP can be found over at F3D. WIP (http://www.foundation3d.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11400)

Software used:
LW10.1
3DCoat
Photoshop

Enjoy,

Ricky.

wow, my new wallpaper!
Nothing to criticize really, you did an amazing job.
I especially love the little details like rivets, btw do you have a bigger image?

Beautiful done, reminds me a lot in a very good way of some of the traditional wartime aircraft artists (whose names all escape me right now).

I do have a slightly larger image, however; the back plate had a max res of 1400x1050, so If I render anything larger, the back plate becomes too pixelated. What size did you have in mind.

Animated... took so long to finish the still, would have to get back to you about the animated version.

Wow. Thanks Wrench, that's quite an amazing comparison.

Edit: @MAUROCOR "Let me tell you, I love it! Really great, congrats!" - Wow, again, thanks man.

Ricky, I've been thinking about some close ups (3-4x) to see the model details, but don't bother if you don't have hi-res image.

Jakuzaa,

I may have some time this evening. However, the model isn't that detailed, poly wise, and I used normal and bump maps for the dents and rivets. These are 4K texture maps and I don't know who they will hold up 3-4 times larger. But I'll see.

Sweet

With the gorgeous renders of planes appearing from some LW artists, I wonder if any are playing Cliffs of Dover?

Thanks man, really appreciate your point of view.

For once I didn't really have a tune in my head whilst doing this scene. I'm a bit Rolf Harris when it comes to art and would probably annoy the pants of fellow artists if I were in a big studio.

LOL - I was actually referring to the game IL-2: Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover :D

Not a Lancaster, but the next best thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjZ8kwQr1so&feature=related

I know what you mean - my wife works with us, but won't work in the studio as she complains about the music, and foot tapping...

PS Thanks for my new desktop image...

Haven't stopped laughing after I realised what you were actually going on about in the previous thread.

As for the foot tapping... don't get me started.

Desktop image... I am honoured.
