View Full Version : FREE model of MI24 helicopter.

So if You render some Rambo III s..t I have something for You :-) As You can remember in this movie there was something that looks like to be MI24 fat cousin. I noticed it because living under soviet occupation MI24 was everyday thing. When playing outside as a kid You have this beast flying above You just 100 feet high, You will remember it for the rest of your life. Sometimes there was 5-6 of them in formation and You can feel ground shaking.
About model. It was made some years ago. It is textured, baked, animated and FREE. You can use it whatever You like except selling.

Why I can`t upload *.7z file ?! It is 12.2 MB.
RAR parts seems to work. Enjoy.

Looking great, thanks for sharing:thumbsup:

what OS, are U using?

7-Zip say's there is a problem with part2 and part3

02-12-2012, 01:32 PM
It works fine with Winrar ( just checked ). I mentioned 7zip only because when You uploading something there is this info about limits and my understanding was that newtek like 7zip more because there was much higher limit for 7zip files there. Too bad it was disinfo.

I use W7 64bit but I think it is irrelevant. It must be some 7zip/winrar incompatibilities.

Wow, Fazi you're on fire !
Again, thank you for sharing this amazing model, with great details and all those textures (even though i know nothing about helicopters...)
Like for your car, i thought i might give it a try, and not having much time nor an exterior scene that could fit this model, i thought i would do a studio render of it, not very common i reckon, but hey, it's 3D after all and we're free to do a studio render of helicopters ! :D

Anyway, thanks again for sharing this model, much appreciated !

LW11 renders in HDR tonemapped in Photomatix Pro, no other post-pro...

Laurent aka Tartiflette :)

P.S. : Oh and i changed a bit (probably too much, again i know nothing in helicopters...) the curvature of the main blade, as it looked wrong to me, when the rotor isn't in use...

02-13-2012, 07:43 AM
Very generous of you, thanks man it's great looking model.

Will that work with LW 8.6?

Sure. I made it in LW7.5. There may be problem with scene but not with lwo.

I thought this would be a good idea...

...but my competitors are STILL out-selling me. Where did I go wrong?

Cool model, by the way.

Awesome! I checked out your blog too - you've got some fantastic work there. Will recommend you highly (and commission you if I land any nice juicy 3D jobs!)

So on the weekend I picked up PFMatchit and I was playing around. I had some old cell phone clip I decided to use to learn with. There's a lot of slip in the beggining and end... but I think this came out pretty well.

RAR parts seems to work. Enjoy.
Fazi , thanks!

I don't use RAR (guess I'm gonna learn now): does the uncompressor somehow access all these parts separately? Tnx.

Hell no! (macs: I spit!!!) :D :D :D

Windows 7. Thank you, but you've been very generous already, I'll just have to buckle down and figure out WinRAR.

09-25-2012, 04:07 AM
It's easy-peasy man :) Doubleclick the .rar file, select the files you want to extract, click 'extract', choose the path you want it extracted to, click 'OK', et voilá.

Again, VERY generous of you to freely give out such lovely content. Might get this going in the CryEngine! :D

Thanks!!! :D
