I thought this is quite cool that you guys might want to check it out. The software is a spin-off from Rhino 3d. The UI look very simple and friendly. It does some of the modeling a lot easier and elegant than LW. After checking the linked tuts from their resource page it didn't take long for me to figure out the basic stuff. MOI 3d can export to LWO format and the best part of it is you can determine the polygon density before exporting. Give it a spin it may worth your while.

thanks for the mac beta heads up!

just as a reminder... another mac/win modeling application with excellent LWO support is formz or it's smaller (and cheaper) brother bonzai3d: http://www.formz.com/products/bonzai3d.html

Erikals,
the ViaCAD pro is pretty cool and is a tad cheaper. It seems like its good at bending & chamfering. Do you own a mac version? Stability wise any issue? Sorry, this is a new to me and I have limited knowledge about it. Certainly I try out the trial version when I have more time. Thanks!

3dworks,
Not at all. Just wanted to share something interesting that I just fiddled with. I'm in the process of modeling a car and its been promising thus far. There are moments where the screen not behaving when I toggle between different apps. But with a few clicks on the background everything is back to normal. Ha ha ha... starting to love this baby.
