Great renderings, really. The late afternoon time it's perfect and the "sketchy" look makes all very pleasant to view! Krasno! The bushes in the first image are all 3d or clipmaps? I can't tell...

Thanks, all vegetation are 3D models. Using LW 11 instancing.

Nice stuff boris!

They are quite surreal .. I am almost certain they looked even better on the white submission panels they were printed on, than in this dark forum :) ..

There were two things that struck me:
- The palm on the left of the first image dominated my attention, it almost has too much detail or contrast, I had to tear my eyes away ..
- From a distance (thumbnails), they almost could be desolate burning desert towns .. sorry for the association, but there you go ... :|

And just to sum up .. really like the images

Thanks archijam, you're right about the palm, the image was cut off just before the trunk for the final print so only part of the leaves were visible, I forgot about that.

Have to say I'm loving the implementation of the LWinstancing .. though I first thought we had scaling/rotation etc per object within the instance, not global for that instance .. the texturing and nodal access is very intuitive as well, and it hold up nicely under VPR

Rendering 10million (albeit simple) instances in 2 minutes is sweet :)

Very nice renders. My fav is the third, with the waters edge.

I like it, much better than first 3 places in competition (by the look at finalists it seems they were more interested in "kindergarten" than church :)).

Very nice renders! I like the look of the church, somewhat futuristic!!!

Nice and warm images! My favorite is the first.

What kind of post processing you are using or any?
Software & plugins?

This is RAW LW render. I'm using Photoshop and Efex Pro for post work.

Wow. The difference between the raw and the final is very interesting. What does efex bring to the pipeline?

Well, I mostly use cross processing to get different color moods, tonal contrast is also very good, glamour glow and all sorts of other filters, then I combine them using masks and of course all standard PS stuff like levels, hue/saturation, color balance and such. Basically I end up with 10 to 30 PS layers and then finally after flattening 2 to 6 global filter layers from Efex Pro.

Thanks, Boris! Your process method sound so familiar to me. I am relieved :)

No, color efex pro. Hdr efex pro is for making HDR photos out of several differently exposed photos.
