There was a throwaway line in Star Trek 8 about how on the moon you could see all these cities. So I wondered, when we actually do settle the moon, would you be able to see that city in the dark on Lunar Night. Here we do. I call the City Tycho City, and there it is sitting on the dark of the moon. Maybe one day we will build a whole city on the moon.

Textures are mostly from nasa, but I did the modeling and layout. It's also I believe the closest I've ever approached to a photorealistic image, so I'm a tiny bit proud of it. Let me know what you guys think please.

Hello spacer :)

I think the moon and the city are VERY realistic.
However to cut the edge, make some more widespread
small light sources around the center like magnetic railroads

The sad thing is the star map in the background which kills
the very spirit of the concept. It's basically it shows it that
the map is zoomed and not at appropriate scale.

If I can find the layout plugin which is free I let you know.
With it you can create very realistic looking stars for your
space scenes.

Other than that...
congratulations
GREAT JOB
keep up the good work

Yes, the background kills it. Use a sphere of point polys for stars.
