We recently migrated to broadcasting in 16x9 on our TriCaster Studio. I was needing help knowing what settings to use on my IVGA computer to make the PowerPoint slides 16x9.

I know I will need to change the PowerPoint slide to 16x9 but what are the screen resolution settings?

I keep making changes but the slides still don't look correct. We don't want the black bars on the sides.

Thanks!

Try using 854x480px or 853x480. That's the 16:9 equivalent of standard NTSC size (720x480px).

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I am looking for the resoultion settings for the IVGA computer. I can't seem to get the PowerPoint slides to fit the entire screen on the EXT input. It has black all the way around the slides, which we didn't have in 4x3.

Does anyone know the proper settings?

Is it a widescreen computer monitor? If not, the video hardware may not have a resolution that works well.

You can also aid the process by formatting your slides in different ways.mthe interaction between slide format, laptop monitor format, and tricastermsession format can be a little tough. But if you get the first two on 16x9, it usually comes together.

You have to design your powerpoint slides in 16x9. Depending on the version of powerpoint you are using, the default setting is 4x3. Even if you set the computer to display in a 16x9 equivalent, the slides will have a pillarbox effect around them because they are designed in 4x3.
