I remember some talk about a nice technique on a sketch/pencil look that was published in HDRI magazine. Now I don't have the magazine (and chances to get them are slim these days I guess) nor can find by search how the actual technique works.

Does anyone know and care to share? Could really use some nice pencil sketch style today..

Mind sharing your technique?

It's a combination of a few shaders and approaches as posted in those threads, combined with the distort + mb approach and a soft dome light. Renders fast..

I really like it.. but since it is so lifelike to a pencilsketch, you need to animate it enough to show off that it is actually 3D. I guess only a 3D artist will admire the stroke like appearance coming from a 3D model.. others will just think it a nice image :)

Thanks for all who shared techniques.
