Also looking forward to this. Have downloaded already, but not yet installed. The nice thing is that it is now available for Windows so do not have to do a Linux install.

So many toys, so little time. . . . .

Are you referring to Resolve Lite? That's the only thing I see that's free.

Hey,
there is a "Warning" in the Edius and also in the Lightworks-Forum:

- Be Careful Installing the Da Vinci Resolve Beta 8 for Windows
- Make a Image of your system drive on a separate drive before installing DaVinci Resolve
- requires some fairly robust and specialised hardware to run under WIN 7
- installing DaVinci Resolve can crash some graphic card Driver complete
- the video and audio codecs library on the machine will been updated by DaVinci Resolve and many of the installed profession paid for codec are complete rewritten
- Network Access Share (NAS) Driver are disabled after Installation
- Minimal Hardware are Nvidia Quadro or GeForce GTX Cards and 12 GB of RAM

Yes, I plan to install this on a dedicated system. The same goes with any AVID program.

In case anyone wants to try it, there's a safe route virtualizing windows, no harm can be done this way.
