Cool..I think I had a game in the old amiga days, where you always ended up with a hole in the ground and if you enter it, you would end up in different universes.

Brian enoīs apollo track, rocks too.

Excellent video MrRid, thank you for sharing.

It is always possibles to tweak things a bit more, but
I think that it is tweaked enough to give the message
and the feeling of your dream.

Thank you again, and I hope you'll have more dream like
this one to render! :)

Really imaginative, first person to stick that idea into a feature movie is a genius thief.

For many years I've had recurring dreams of secret portals/entrys/channels into hidden, parallel worlds that are better places to be, with fascinating designs, and inhabited by interesting characters. Usually there is a risk of getting trapped or lost on the other side, but its worth it.

I wish I could spend more time exploring personal whims. I mainly did this to show one person and was only going to render the first shot of the portal. But as usual I kept adding, but had to stop before starting a job doing something much less interesting.

Yeah..same with me, I have a buckload of personal dream visions Iīd like to bring to life on the screen, Thatīs probably very common for a lot of creative people here, but due to work and time they will not be realized.

It takes motivation disciplin and a planned schedule perhaps in order to nail it down I guess.
And what you end up with would probably be much shorter and not in the resolution you want it to be due to lack of above mentioned resources.

I guess we have to keep it short, No way to reach 10-12 years of production of an Avatar dream like Cameron did:D
Maybe skipping sleeping and ignore washing like Michelangelo supposed to do in order to create masterpieces.

I need to sit down and think about wich dream vision I really would like to
bring forward, how much time and resources it will take etc, perhaps make
concept sketches and figure out if those are something that I could create single handed.

Yes, to pull off a short by yourself in a practical time frame, the concept needs to be 'optimized' to it's essence. Personally, I prefer not planning and thinking about these things too much, or getting too hung up on making it perfect. Just start it rolling and let it evolve. I prefer making stuff up as I go, which is of course harder to do with CG and I am endlessly frustrated with the technical bog of setting things up, developing and figuring out tools. There's one idea thats been gestating for many years that I want to do more than any other, but its rather involved. I keep waiting for tools that automate much of the cumbersome process of setting up, which is slowly happening, so I can spend more time directing it.

Whatever you do, dont talk about your idea or show wips unless you genuinely need help from specific collaborators. It diffuses the idea's energy as you get intermediate payoffs from recognition, compliments and encouragement. The ego sees this as having accomplished something and has reduced motive. Channel that urge and just do it.
