View Full Version : DP Kit Part Move - use pivot from 3rd party object

Hi There

Using DP Kit Part move one can set the pivot point to various points relating to the part itself… but how can one set the pivot point to a 3rd party object?

I have a multi part object of which I wish the parts to individually rotate around a single other object. Can't figure out the vector maths to add in a new pivot point…

Cheers

Paul

Just guessing - isn't pivot point Item Info > World Position?

If position is absolute, then subtract object's position, and add new object's position. It won't handle scaling and rotation, this way.

Don't think you can do that easily with Part Move node,
rotation of parts are done around their initial individual pivot,
you can add a "Shift" vector to their pivot,
but if you want that all parts share the same pivot,
you should substract also each part position from this vector
using Part Info node, but I guess that their displacement
will become crazy and deform the part.

Individual part Rotation around an global pivot
is not implemented yet.
