What makes MPDM interesting over basic displacement mapping is that MPDM does not store the displaced geometry in the RAM, so regardless of how many thousands of millions of micro triangles there may be in a MPDM-displaced mesh, the actual memory footprint of this technique is negligible.

Yes we need it (long ago) but Fog it, posting just on forum don't have desired effect.

it's very useful for huge scenes, like landscapes / trees etc, etc... but also microscopic stuff...
