You should see the price of a cirrus. kidding.

Anyway, it's expensive, but then, it might not be to the given client.

What you're paying for is the right to use the image, which in a commercial production or campaign $125 could be a trivial amount, especially if the image is EXACTLY what you're looking for. Certainly much cheaper than sending a photographer out to shoot the perfect image for you.

But, yeah, with this particular image I thought the same thing: "...what the...?" :)

Round here we tend to only get that type of cloud/light combo in late summer - I know because I spent one summer sat in the local supermarket's carpark with my camera pointing upwards to get a decent stock of them. Sure it's expensive, but as has been pointed out, if that's the image you want and the budget's there, then it's a seller. Still...glad I spent that summer in the carpark - clouds never go out of fashion :D

You didn't flip it, I doubt it will go for more than 1.5mil, the rest of the money is needed to hire someone to flip it. And isn't that the stock lens? And its an EF-S, meaning you used an EF-S compatible camera, so now its down to 1mil. And why do I see a line of bricks from the previous photo down the left edge? 750k now.

Clever use of a red filter though.

:)

I'm afraid that red filter failed to deliver. It was close though.

Now you're just being mean. I'd post a photo of our typical sky, but it'd be easier to just open Photoshop, select 128,128,128 and drop the paintbucket on the canvas.
