View Full Version : Scale along defined axis?

Hi, that's a simpl question.

I was wondering if there's some scale-along-any-axis free tool anywhere (I tried fly, but didn't find anything)

As an examlpe, I would like to scale my figure along the axis defined by the two first selected points
A tool like this will make me save some time in a certain region of my model (which is slightly rotated)
It would be an easy scripting, but I'm pretty sure a tool like that must exist. If not, I will write mine :-P

Looks like you need some kind of plug that will align the object to the Grid based on your Point selection, or some kind of background rail. Then remove rotation once your done.

If you write it, please inform me as well...That`s a weak point in LW. I planned to write a script that will record all rotation of objects in the layer name, so you can have the LOCAL AXIS...

I was thinking in a tool which could move, rotate, size along a coord sys defined by the user. It could be defined diferent ways, such as poly normals, firt selected points, a series of points on a background layer or something like this.

It will be great having it as a C interactive tool. I'm learning the SDK now, but I'm not sure if I would be able to developing such a tool in the future (it's really more complicated than seems, and I've got more stuff :P ...)

I just saw anywhere a free app which rotated geometry until aligning with World, saving the rotation info, which was restored at user request. This is a fast solution (easily LScriptable), although really unelegant (at least from my point of view...)

That`s cool, but it doesn`t exactly what we really need...the two point vector scale is what we need. In game develeopement, it is very required feature to have the ability to scale along local axis.
