Can your eyes spot the image rendered with Radiosity?

Here is the challenge for you CG artists:

- 5 images rendered at different lighting conditions
- But only one of the 5 is rendered with Radiosity
- The radiosity used was Monte Carlo

Which one is it?

A
B
C
D

or

E

?????

I think D.

A & B look quite good, It would be interesting how much quicker these were to render.

I say B, It looks very natural to me and i think it is what GI is all about. B looks the best to me

Nice challenge :)

A looks like a couple of area lights.
B looks like a large area light to me from above, which would also explain the quite dark vertical surfaces.
C's specular highlights on the edges are quite bright, but the rest of the lighting is quite neutral, so I'd guess at a sky dome for that one.
E I can see a couple of area lights in that, I think...

So for me it's D - nicely balanced lighting, no strong giveaway shadows, and no burn outs :)

I voted D, mostly due to shadows color and overall color balance.

You keep changing the lighting :S It doesn't look like you simply turned ON radiosity on one of the images.

But I'll say D, it's a litle more lit when compared to A and the occlusion is not so dark.

I go for D

I don't think it looks the best but the white areas are picking up the colour from the other objects and backdrop.

I'd also like to see the techniques, settings and render times involved

I voted D, mostly due to shadows color and overall color balance.

Same here :agree:

The "tone" of D looks like radiosity to me. And the shadows look more "correct".

I vote D. The crease at the bottom isn't overly lit. It's casting and catching subtle shadows from the upper and lower polys... My guess anyway.

Hasn't this had a response yet?
