View Full Version : Issues binding Bones to Object

To start off, I'm a terrible animator so I purchased an animated motion capture deer bone animation.

I'm having issues figuring out how to bind my 8-bit deer to the animated bones. Every time I use the scene editor to move the bones as a child of my deer object, the bones jump to a crazy position.

Even if I use the graph editor to put the bones back where they should go, when I activate deformations it does crazy things to my skeleton.

I've attached a scene file and object (9.6) to this post so people can see what's going on here. It's been a while since I've tried animating, so maybe I'm missing something obvious like resting bone position.

Just a thought - did you rest all bones?

I did try before - but after your comment I tried resting the bones again - this time one by one - and it worked out for me! The other issue was solved by not scaling the object in Layout, but in Modeler instead. Thanks for the help :)
