View Full Version : Optimising layout viewport

I know it's impossible to display quads in layout, but was working on something this morning and while mesh had like 300k polys - the viewport performance was not bad in 'shaded solid wireframe mode' - seen much worse performance in 3dsmax, but when switched to vertices it was significantly better - now - the question is - if reducing the number of edges to display in viewport (from tri's to quads(if any)) would improve the viewport, I'm not a programmer, but if that's something hard to implement?
